High-Speed Unwind-Rewind Lines

Off-line processes, such as irradiation, require the film roll to be unwound, treated and then rewound into a high-quality treated roll.  Macro's high-speed Unwind-Rewind Line provides processors with the means to perform this task in a fast and highly automated manner.

The line features a fully automatic turret unwinder and a fully automatic turret rewinder, which allows the line to run continuously, without interruptions caused by loading new rolls to unwind, or unloading finished rolls.  Splicing of unwinding rolls on the unwinder and cutovers of finished rolls on the rewinder are initiated by the line software.  The unwind and rewind equipment are synchronized so splices are always left at end of rewound rolls for minimal scrap and easy removal.

The unwind-rewind line can operate at speeds of up to 300 m/min (1000 ft/min).
